Bees Able to Change Solar Radiation Being Sustainable Energy Sources

it was also related to the behavior of bees that move more active during summer or in the morning and afternoon for the days normally. Because in the summer or on the earth when the sun sting, bees are able to absorb the sun's rays through a special structure in the stomach and turn it into energy. Well, leave from the fact this is a team of researchers who work in Israel and England, led by Dr. Marian Plotkin from Tel-Aviv University. Making a bee as the object of his research, in learning about bees for the design of photovoltaic solar cells [solar cells].

on bees, yellow cuticle consists of small interlocking protrusion, about 50 nanometers, with the ability to absorb light around 5 percent or more. Yellow cuticle also consists of pigment xanthopterin. The researchers showed that the artificial solar cells, xanthopterin can work as molecules to harvest light, convert light into electrical energy efficiently.

It is this radiation is then becomes a source of energy pd bees digging activities (1) bee enlarge the hole to allow for additional building comb cells (2). bees took a clod of earth in his lower jaw (3), flew out of the nest, dropping a lump of land (4), and again to repeat this process.

(b) Bees are resting. Brown bees have a yellow segment on its head: the front (1), clypeus (2), on the back side of his abdomen, nos stripe. 3 and 4 (3 and 4), and one line on the ventral side of the abdomen (not shown in b).

(c) Graph the absorbance cuticle (Plotkin et al 2009b). Graph showing absorbance brown cuticle, cuticle yellow, and yellow cuticle after removal of yellow pigment granules. Yellow and brown cuticle displays similar characteristics with the highest absorbance at shorter wavelengths Willis. Absorbance in the range of 250-290 nm after removal of pigment granules attributable aromatic amino acid which is the bee cuticle proteins.

(d) (1) cuticle consists of about 30 layers with reduced thickness of the exterior (2) to section 2 (3) and section 3.

(f) When raised, we can see the barrel-like shape of yellow pigment granules Brisbane (about 500 nm in size)
